Scott McTominay 'informs Manchester United board of future decision' and more transfer rumours

Scott McTominay has reportedly told the Manchester United board that he intends to leave this summer, should he fall further down the pecking order.

McTominay has seen his minutes significantly decrease this season, thanks in part to the arrival of Casemiro last summer. The 26-year-old has just 10 Premier League starts to his name, most of which have come when the Brazilian veteran has been suspended.

Erik ten Hag is expected to recruit further in central midfield this summer, with a ball-playing No.8 the priority while Marcel Sabitzer'sloan could be made permanent. And according to Football Insider, McTominay has gone above the Dutchman and told United chiefs. to sanction a sale.

The Scotland international is desperate for regular football as he reaches the peak of his career, and knows of interest from other Premier League clubs like Newcastle United. McTominay has been a United player for more than two decades, having joined the club's academy set up in 2002 and worked his way through the youth ranks.

The midfielder's contract runs until 2025 and he is one of several fringe players that could leave this summer, with Ten Hag keen to trim the fat and balance the books ahead of a big summer spend.
