Scott McTominay describes Man United 'out of body' experience as he finally replicates Scotland form in red

After striking twice in injury time, Scott McTominay described his late, late show for Manchester United as an "out of body experience."

The midfielder has come in for heavy criticism from his own fans for his displays this season. Boss Erik Ten Hag has seemed reluctant to use him this season, but he he came up trumps massively to rescue three points from the jaws of defeat at home to Brentford. United trailed to Mathias jensen's first half goal. But McTominay brought the house down at Old Trafford.

The Scotland star will hope this proves to be a turning point for him under the Dutchman. He's been on fire for his country with six goals in Euro 2024 qualifying. Steve Clarke's men are on the brink of qualification for Germany next summer thanks in no small part to McTominay. And now he's finally replicated his form in dark blue for his club.

He admitted to watching the new David Beckham documentary on netflix last night, which gave him inspiration for his match winning contribution.

"It was probably one of my favourite moments ever on a football pitch that," he said. "I can't put into words the feeling that I had when the second one went in, it was like an out-of-body experience. I was watching the David Beckham documentary last night and you can see all the history and the people behind the club and that's who the lads do it for and that's what means the most."

Ten Hag cold see how much it meant to McTominay. He added: "He is Manchester United in his heart," said the United boss. "He is playing for the badge and gives his life. When you are coming on and giving this to the team it tells a lot."
