Scott Arfield reveals Rangers contract talks as he declares 'I love being part of this club'

Scott Arfield is keen to extend his stay at Rangers as talks opened over a new contract.

The midfielder's current deal is up this summer but he insists there's nowhere else he wants to be.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst last week opened the door for the midfielder to sign fresh terms and Arfield revealed his agent is currently working on securing an extension

The 33-year-old insists he "loves" being a Rangers player - and doesn't intend for that to change any time soon.

He said on Friday: "My agent is talking to the club, this is a club I want to be a part of.

Arfield was part of the Rangers side blown away by Celtic in midweek as the champions suffered a considerable blow in their bid to retain the Premiership title.

They've now been toppled from the league summit but the veteran Canada international is adamant the Ibrox side must quickly put it behind them, with Hearts next up this Sunday.

He added: "It was disappointing, we didn't get going in the first-half. Disappointing but we have to move on.

"Winning games is now the most important thing and we have to get back to that on Sunday.
