Saudi Esports Federation signs partnership to advance talent development
RIYADH: The Saudi Esports Federation, representing the SEF Academy, and the Saudi Entertainment and Event Management Academy, have signed a pact to develop domestic talent in gaming and event management.
The agreement was signed recently by Rawan AlButairi, CEO of the SEF, and Dr. Eihab Abourokbah, CEO of SEEMA.
The two organizations will design and deliver specialized training sessions, workshops, seminars, internship opportunities, and awareness initiatives, to highlight careers and skill pathways within esports and its ecosystem.
The partnership builds on the efforts of SEF Academy, to empower and upskill national talent to pursue professional careers in the gaming and esports industries.
These initiatives will be led by esports professionals and event-management specialists, providing participants with both technical skills and practical experience.
The partnership also focuses on strengthening links with educational institutions, industry networks, and the broader community to expand participation as part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to become a global hub for gaming and digital sport.
Since the launch of the SEF Academy in August 2023, more than 1,100 participants have graduated from the program. This new collaboration will further empower and bolster opportunities for emerging talent.
AlButairi said the partnership would “elevate the professional landscape in the gaming and esports sector in the Kingdom.
“By providing meaningful opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain experience, we are bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, a key focus for SEF as we continue to build a thriving and sustainable esports ecosystem.”
