Reigning Man of Steel Sam Tomkins has agreed a new one-year deal to stay with Catalans.
Tomkins, 33, is in his fourth season with the Dragons and last season helped them to the League Leaders’ Shield and their first Super League Grand Final.
He said: “I am really happy to have signed a new contract to take me into my fifth year at the Dragons.
“We are a club on an upward trajectory and it’s great to be part of it.
“This is home now for me and my family so it was a very easy decision to extend my stay with the club.”
Sam Tomkins made more than 200 appearances for Wigan either side of a two-year stint in the NRL with New Zealand Warriors.
He won three Grand Finals with Wigan, as well as two Challenge Cups.
His form in 2021 made him only the fourth player to win the Man of Steel award twice, having previously won it in 2012.
Coach Steve McNamara added: “Sam has been outstanding for us since his arrival.
“His performances and leadership on the field and integration within our whole organisation off the field have made him a firm favourite.
“We are very happy to extend his deal into 2023.”
Tomkins is currently sidelined with a leg fracture.
He has scored 25 tries and 303 points in 69 appearances for the Dragons.
The full-back is likely to captain England at the end of season World Cup.
Although he missed the end of season test against France, he did play in the 26-24 defeat to the Combined Nations All Stars last summer.
Since making his international debut in 2009, Tomkins has won 25 caps.
