Sam Thompson in battle with Zara McDermott after public 'best mate' update

Sam Thompson appears to be in a tongue-in-cheek battle with his girlfriend Zara McDermott over their nephew. The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here looked ever the doting uncle as he was seen spending time with Leo, the son of his sister Louise Thompson.

A clip posted to his Instagram page showed Sam walking down the street with the toddler on her shoulders, in which Zara could be heard laughing as she filmed them.

The video continued to show Leo looking happy with his form of travel before stopping off at a flower shop and heading to the park where they enjoyed some ice cream together.

The sweet video ended with Leo planting a kiss on his uncle's cheek, much to Sam's surprise before they walked off hand-in-hand towards the park while waving to Zara from a distance.

Captioning the adorable post, former Made in Chelsea star Sam wrote: "A wholesome bank holiday. Really feel like me and my nephew are becoming best mates and it makes me so happy. There’s nothing like it."

But former Love Island star Zara was quick to respond, writing: "No he’s MY best mate." And Louise seemingly backed Zara's version as she commented back: "It's true!"
