Sam Lammers hopes of Rangers transfer escape boosted as new Dutch suitors 'interested' in permanent switch

A permanent Rangers exit for Sam Lammers could be on the cards after all with FC Twente reportedly interested in the Dutchman.

The £4million arrival from Atalanta last summer flopped big time at Ibrox, with Philippe Clement shipping him out on loan to FC Utrecht in January. He found his scoring touch back in his homeland, breaking a club record by scoring in seven consecutive games. The Eredivise club were keen to bring Lammers back after the summer, but only on loan given they are unable to afford the wages that would come with a permanent switch and have signed RKC Waalwijk's David Min as an apparent alternative.

But fresh transfer hope has emerged in the shape of FC Twente. Voetbal International claim they are keen to add Lammers to their squad. And reaching the Champions League qualifiers has boosted their budget, meaning Lammers' wages won't be the same issue it was for Utrecht. Rangers are reportedly seeking around £2.5million for Lammers as Clement looks to raise funds and create space for his Ibrox summer rebuild.
