Saka injury, Havertz risk and the seven players Arsenal could be without amid Man City title race

Arsenal have injury concerns over a host of players as the Premier League returns.

The Gunners and Manchester City are once again set to be chief protagonists in the title race with the sides level on points and goal difference after the opening tranche of games. The pair sit one point behind early leaders Liverpool as the top flight resumes this weekend following the international break.

City are at Wolves on Sunday with injury concerns of their own around Kevin De Bruyne while Rodri and Oscar Bobb are certain absentees. Nathan Ake should return though having taken part in training this week.

The Gunners face a trip to Bournemouth on Saturday and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has some decisions to make, chief among them star man Bukayo Saka who picked up a knock while on England duty.

On Saka, Arteta said: "It’s not a serious injury. He’s evolving really well. He’s done a few things in the last few days when he came back from the national team after the second game. We are hopeful. We have a training session this afternoon and he did some bits yesterday, so let’s see if he can make it on time. "

It was a similar story with Kai Havertz, who didn't join up with Germany as a precaution during the international break. "He had a few issues and we’ve been dealing with that," said Arteta.
