Ryan Kent silence broken as Rangers hero FINALLY ends Fenerbahce nightmare with boss U-turn

Misfit Ryan Kent has finally brought an end to his spell on the Fenerbahce sidelines - with the wide man earning surprise praise from boss Ismail Kartal.

The former Rangers wide man has endured a turbulent in Istanbul after leaving Ibrox behind as a free agent last summer. He has been used sparingly by Kartal and has made just one five-minute cameo in the league in the last month. The 27-year-old has been on the brink of a shock move to Lazio in the January window - but the deal fell apart in the final hours of the window.

The Englishman has failed to win over the boss - but was handed his first start since November to bring the curtain down on a nightmare exile. Kent was given a 75-minute run out in the Europa Conference League defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise - but Fenerbahce ran out 3-1 winners on aggregate.

And following the rare run out from the start, Kent was singled out by praise for Kartal - with the boss previously leading the criticism of the wide man over his fitness. He said at full-time: "Ryan Kent did his best.

"After not playing for a long time, the performance of the player may not have been like our players who played constantly. Even if it wasn't, he did his best. He put up a good fight."
