Ruben Neves reacts to major Wolves' injury boost

Ruben Neves has hailed Willy Boly’s return from injury, calling his teammate ‘a great player’. The Wolves midfielder also praised the depth of Bruno Lage’s squad after a number of players returned to action following spells on the sidelines.

Pedro Neto and Jonny have also recovered from long-term knee injuries to give the club a boost heading into the business end of the season. However, Wolves will be without Nelson Semedo and Ki-Jana Hoever after they both picked up thigh injuries.

Boly , who initially joined the club on a season-long loan from Porto in 2017, before putting pen to paper on a permanent deal a year later has been a key member of Wolves’ upward trajectory over the last few seasons. The Ivorian made his return following a calf issue during the 4-0 win over Watford and Neves revealed his delight that the 31-year-old is available for selection again.

“He’s (Boly) a great player, of course. I think we have a great squad,” he told Express and Star .

“Now people are coming back from injuries. We have a really good squad and everyone is ready to go. He’s (Boly) been an important player for us and unfortunately got some injuries, but the players who were playing did a fantastic job as well.

“That’s the main thing, everyone is ready to play and everyone has the quality to play and give something different for the team. Boly did well of course but anyone that plays in that position will do really well, I’m sure of that, because of the way we work.”
