The Red Devils were left reeling as Dean Huijsen's header gave the visitors an early lead, capitalising on yet another set piece conceded by United. The situation worsened in the second half when Noussair Mazraoui committed a late foul on Justin Kluivert, resulting in a penalty which the Cherries forward successfully converted to double Bournemouth's lead. Antoine Semenyo added insult to injury with a third goal just three minutes later.
This makes it seven goals that United have conceded from set-pieces in their last six games, while they have shipped 17 goals in the Premier League in 2024 from set-pieces, a calendar year record in the competition.
