Ruben Amorim has just proved that Manchester United players have nowhere to hide
If Ruben Amorim can produce such a performance with his Sporting CP players against Manchester City, then so can Manchester United.
Amorim guided Sporting to a thumping 4-1 win over City in the Champions League on Tuesday thanks to a hat-trick from Viktor Gyokeres and Maximiliano Araujo's fine strike. After City dominated most of the first half, it was Sporting that got a stranglehold of the second and ran out deserved winners in the end.
With Amorim set to take charge of United during the November international break, his fifth Premier League match is set to be against City at the Etihad. There is still six weeks to go until that game, but Amorim has provided the perfect blueprint to beat City and there is no reason why United can't deliver the same outcome.

Yes, City might have a stronger squad and be more fired up due to it being the Manchester derby, but the United players have nowhere to hide if they can't win that game. Amorim has already beaten City with his Sporting players and there is no doubt he has much more quality to choose from at United.
Looking at the XIs man-to-man there is only one, maybe two players you would pick to go into the United team from Sporting. Viktor Gyokeres could replace Rasmus Hojlund and Morten Hjulmand might deputise instead of Casemiro, but apart from that, United are much stronger all over the pitch.
It might take Amorim a little longer to get his messages and ideas across to the United players, but with the clash against City being over a month into his tenure, there is no excuse to not be
