Ruben Amorim has already found the answer to his first Manchester United selection dilemma
Never before has a Manchester United starting XI generated so much anticipation.
The prospect of Ruben Amorim installing a new formation at Old Trafford ahead of his opening game in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon is creating plenty of excitement and intrigue.
The new United head coach wants to quickly install a new identity, and his best hope of doing so is by sticking to his principles from the off. Training ground footage captured earlier this week suggests he will be doing exactly that.
A 3-4-3 formation will offer United a new look and a new lease of life. It will also create plenty of competition in certain areas of the squad.

The system means United will line up with two central-midfielders flanked by wing-backs. They have been so accustomed to operating with a three-man midfield in recent years. The shift means Bruno Fernandes is expected to be pushed into a more advanced role and become a member of the attack.
Presuming that does transpire, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad will be competing for the final spot in the forward line if Rasmus Hojlund continues as United's chief striker. Rashford, Garnacho and Amad will all believe they are worthy of starting week-in, week-out, creating a selection headache for Amorim.
As talented as each individual is, Amad is currently the man of the moment. He has scored two goals and registered one assist in United's last two games. The right-wing is his position to lose and just about every United supporter is of the opinion he should start at Portman Road this weekend.
