Ruben Amorim decision leaves Gary Lineker perplexed as he asks question after Liverpool draw
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has raised questions about Kobbie Mainoo's lack of game time following his stellar performance against Liverpool.
The 19-year-old shone in Manchester United's heated 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday. Amad rescued a share of the spoils on Merseyside after Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo snuffed out Lisandro Martinez's incredible opening goal.
Mainoo bounced back into form after experiencing a slight dip earlier on in his second full season in United's senior setup. But Lineker questioned Amorim's use of the midfielder, who has found himself being withdrawn from matches of late.

Micah Richards lauded United skipper Bruno Fernandes for his commanding display on the latest episode of The Rest is Football podcast (via The Mirror). But Lineker asked: "Kobbie Mainoo back in the starting line-up, which begs the question why hasn't he been playing more regularly recently?"
Despite lacking a full 90-minute play in a Premier League fixture since United’s 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth last month, his record under Amorim is a strong one. Only one of his appearances under Amorim to date has been off the bench, though he has been an unused substitute on three occasions.
His only total absence came during the defeat to Arsenal at the start of December, though that was due to suspension. It's evident Amorim, 39, has a great level of respect for the England prospect, but there's a slim suspicion he still needs to do some convincing.
