RTÉ GAA Podcast: Scary Limerick and bad handpasses

Mikey Stafford and Rory O'Neill are joined by referee Barry Kelly and Shane McGrath to review a surprisingly one-sided weekend of hurling.

Cork away to Galway, Limerick at home to Clare, Tipperary away to Kilkenny... thankfully the Super Bowl was more competitive, or a few bleary-eyed contributors wouldn't have been as chipper.

Shane was in Nowlan Park to see Liam Cahill's young side take away his status as a member of the last Tipp team to win in the Marble City (back in 2008). He was impressed by what he saw and also couldn't help but notice the murmurs of discontent at the style of play adopted by the home team at times.

Cork blew Galway away with a strong third quarter and Rory was very impressed with what he saw from Pat Ryan on the line, as well as the performances of some, such as Declan Dalton.

Shane reckons Galway will be a different team once the Fitzgibbon Cup ends and Henry Shefflin gets full access to a fresh panel of players.

Antrim's decent showing against a Micheal O'Donoghue infused Dublin was heartening for the Leinster championship, even if the Munster Championship was already getting all the plaudits from a couple of contributors.

Limerick's depth is now terrifying after their demolition of a very flat Clare on Saturday night and, with so many multiple All-Ireland winners still to come back, John Kiely will have a massive, panel to choose from, if he can keep everyone happy and motivated.

There is also some talk about the problem of the handpass in hurling, with Barry saying inter-county referees are expected in Dublin on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
