RTÉ GAA Podcast: Deadly Derry and a Model shambles

Eamonn Fitzmaurice and Shane McGrath join Mikey Stafford and Rory O'Neill to look back on the weekend's football and hurling action.

Derry v Dublin is shaping up to be a big game in Division 2 but right now Derry look the Division 1 team stuck in the second tier, while Dublin are struggling for a spark - with Rory wondering about Con O'Callaghan's lack of dynamism.

In Division 1, Mayo's red hot form has us wondering when Kevin McStay will deploy the parachute/handbrake, but with corner-back's impersonating Gooch, they're in a good place.

Donegal v Galway was a drab affair, which suited Padraic Joyce's side better to draw, you feel, while Kerry continue to burn off the dirty diesel, this time with a one-point win over Armagh. Monaghan's defeat of Roscommon was surely written in the stars!

HURLING FROM 44 MINUTES

Shane McGrath was in Wexford Park to see the home side filleted by Clare, in a performance so abject it could have lasting repercussions. Shane put it down largely to a lack of effort but admitted his friend Darragh Egan has serious work to do.

Limerick's apparent lack of effort in dismissing Galway augers badly for everyone else come summer, as they continue to blood new talent and try players in new positions.

Dublin were another Leinster team to lose but they did at least put it up to an experimental looking Tipp team.
