Roy Keane sends Pep Guardiola warning to Man City after Premier League title victory

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane does not believe Pep Guardiola will get the full credit that he deserves until he has left Manchester City.

Guardiola guided City to their fifth Premier League title of his reign on Saturday evening after Arsenal slipped up against Nottingham Forest, losing 1-0 at the City Ground. City then put the gloss on a memorable weekend with a 1-0 triumph over Chelsea on Sunday before being presented with the trophy.

City's latest title success marked their 12th major trophy under Guardiola and they will now, of course, be hoping to add both the FA Cup and Champions League crowns to their collection over the next few weeks, as they go in search of a historic treble. They face Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on June 3 before facing Inter Milan in the final of the Champions League the following Saturday.

Should City see off Inter in Istanbul, it will mean that Guardiola will have won every trophy possible since taking over at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016. Though he is consistently lauded for his achievements, former Reds skipper Keane does not believe the Catalan will be 'truly appreciated' for what he has done for the club until he is no longer in the dugout.

"Like any great manager, Pep probably won't be truly appreciated as usual until he leaves the building, then you realise what a great manager he is," Keane told Sky Sports.

"They've got great players, he's got the support, but what he does, even his interviews, he gets interviewed with us and you feel like saying cheer up, Pep!
