Roy Keane disagrees with Gary Neville's shocking assessment of Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has claimed Gary Neville was too generous in giving his former club a one per cent chance of beating Liverpool on Tuesday.

Ralf Rangnick saw his team condemned to a 4-0 drubbing, meaning their aggregate score across the two Premier League meetings this season is 9-0 to Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp's side's 5-0 win at Old Trafford back in October. United were way off the pace throughout the whole game and only managed to muster one shot on target with 28 per cent possession.

Many former players have slammed the team in the wake of their defeat, with a big restructure needed this summer. The visitors were without a number of players going into the game, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Fred and Scott McTominay.

However, the showing from the players at Anfield was far below acceptable for many. Keane was one of those left furious by the performance and he said Neville’s pre-match claim that United had a 'one per cent' chance of winning was an overestimation.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think Gary was being generous with giving us a one per cent chance of getting something from Anfield. You’d think maybe with the club, the quality that these players might have, they could get something but there was absolutely no chance. But the result was no surprise, 4-0 did not flatter Liverpool this evening.”
