Michael Owen disagrees with pundits over Brighton vs Manchester United score prediction

Manchester United are set for a long, long trip to Sussex for the penultimate game of their Premier League season against Brighton on Saturday afternoon (5.30pm). It comes after they returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Brentford on Monday night.

That was their final home match of the campaign. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in stunning fashion there as further goals came from Cristiano Ronaldo (pen) and Raphael Varane.

However, as they bid to continue their revised Europa League target, United might find Brighton a little tougher to encounter; certainly, if predictions from three regular pundits are anything to go by. Here is what Michael Owen and two others think will happen at the Amex Stadium.

Mark Lawrenson - BBC Sport

Speaking to BBC Sport, former Liverpool defender Lawrenson said: "Brighton have had some impressive results all season, but they struggle to win at the Amex Stadium. Norwich and Watford [are the only teams that] have picked up fewer points than them at home.

"That's one of the reasons I fancy Manchester United to win this one. Also, United are not under any pressure now their hopes of a top-four finish are basically over. They can play with a bit of freedom here, like they did when they beat Brentford on Monday."
