Ronaldo, Neymar, Kane: Who has the best international goals-per-game ratio?

Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest goalscorer in the history of international football.

The Manchester United forward is one of only two players to reach 100 goals for their country, the other being Iranian icon Ali Daei.

At the time of writing, Ronaldo has scored a whopping 115 goals for Portugal, which is quite frankly absurd.

But while the 37-year-old is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of goals scored, he doesn’t lead the way when it comes to goals-per-game on the international stage.

In that department, Ronaldo is only the sixth-best among those to have played in the 21st century.

After he failed to find the back of the net in Portugal’s 1-1 draw with Spain in the UEFA Nations League, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner possesses an international goals-per-game ratio of 0.62.

That’s good, but it’s nothing compared to Erling Haaland, who scored yet again for Norway on Thursday evening…
