Christian Eriksen race hots up with multiple clubs involved as Brentford set out their stall

Brentford remain keen to sign Christian Eriksen and will begin dialogue with his representatives despite interest from other Premier League clubs.

The 30-year-old penned a six-month loan deal with the Bees in January, completing an amazing journey back to the sport. The popular midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark in their Euro 2020 group opener against Finland last summer. He was fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator device and it was thought that his playing career was over.

The former Tottenham man had to leave Inter as Italian rules prevented him from playing while fitted with the device. However, there was nothing to stop him joining an English club.

And the rumour mill began to turn during the winter window until he finally inked a deal in west London. Erikson joined compatriot Thomas Frank at the Brentford Community Stadium, making 10 starts among 11 top-flight outings.

He bagged one goal and registered four assists as the Bees ended up in 13th spot in the Premier League.
