Rodri sends Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal warning with Man City Treble statement

Manchester City's Rodri has issued a warning to Liverpool and Arsenal, stating that his team is not only aiming for a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title but also to repeat the Treble.

Pep Guardiola's side head into Everton in the Premier League's early Saturday kick-off knowing a win would see them rise above Liverpool to first place in the table, even if only for a few hours with Liverpool hosting Burnley at 3pm. A win could prove vital for City as they aim to repeat last season's historic Treble success.

But the weight of last season does not weigh heavily for the Spanish midfielder, who is keen for his side to kick on and find new success in the future.

He said: "We need to find new goals. We can achieve history this year in the way we can achieve four in a row. The players really feel that they want to do something that no-one has ever done before. That's the thing. Individually, you think: 'I want to do this. I want to do it again.' Because the feeling when you win is great and you still have the team saying: 'We can go for more.'

"We know how tough it is to win (the Treble). But we can do it again. We are alive in all of the competitions. We won at Tottenham in the FA Cup which is one of those grounds where we never won. The Champions League is still a long way but we're still there. The Premier League is still there and we're fighting. That's what we want, to be there in May and April and to be there for everything."
