Robbie Savage claims Celtic are BIGGER than Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou told Spurs is 'step down' he could regret

Robbie Savage has told Ange Postecoglou he has swapped Celtic for a SMALLER club in Tottenham.

The Australian won all but one of six trophies available to him in two glittering years at Parkhead, and was announced as Spurs boss earlier this summer off the back of last term's domestic Treble. He kicks off his Premier League era against Brentford this weekend but pundit Savage reckons that despite their 'big six' status, Postecoglou's new club are not in the same league in terms of size as Celtic and leaving adoration in Glasgow could ultimately have a less than desirable outcome.

He told Star Sports: "I think it is a brilliant step for Ange Postecoglou, even though he has dropped down in club size. Brilliant (for Tottenham fans), what he did with Celtic, the brand of football, I keep a close eye on the Scottish Premiership. You have to win the league if you are Celtic or Rangers and he did it convincingly, the Treble.

"But the brand of football more importantly and way he played, Spurs haven't got the star on their shirt like Celtic. Champions League football for Celtic.

"Is it a gamble? He needs time at that football club, look at Jose Mourinho, they have gone for proven winners Spurs in recent years. Ange Postecoglou winning at Celtic and will he live to regret it? At Celtic, adored, Champions League football. He's taken a step down."
