'Robbed' - Leicester City fans lament key VAR intervention following Manchester United draw

Leicester City fans were happy to come away from Old Trafford with a point after drawing 1-1 with Manchester United on Saturday evening - but claimed their side were "robbed" of a late win.

After a tame opening 45 minutes, the game burst into life in the second half when James Maddison whipped in a perfect cross for Kelechi Iheanacho to head past David De Gea. It's the Nigerian's third league goal of the season.

United responded instantly, Fred capitalising on a rebound to equalise in the 66th minute. Bruno Fernandes fired a shot at Kasper Schmeichel, who could only palm the ball a few yards to his right and into the path of the Brazilian.

The ending to the game was tense and hectic as United pushed for a winner, but it was City who put the ball in the net. A superb piece of skill saw Iheanacho set up Maddison to score, but a VAR check confirmed that the striker fouled Raphael Varane in the build-up. That call was a controversial one for the Foxes faithful, who believed that the goal should have stood.

They had also seen United midfielder Scott McTominay escape a red card for a reckless challenge on Morrison earlier in the game when many of them believed a VAR referral would have seen him sent off. Supporters took to Twitter to air their grievances, while many also praised their team's performance. Here is what some of them had to say:

It would still take a miracle for the Prem to matter for us this season so bring on the UECL. Think it could've been a red for McTominay but think the disallowed goal was the right decision Some decent performances in there today which is a positive.

Solid point for us, though we’ve been robbed of 2 points thanks to the officials. We’re much better when we’re positive, we were far too
