Roar on Scotland to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 using our unique cheer map

Scotland got their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds of Euro 2024 back on track on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw with Switzerland.

The Dark Blues had been left reeling from their 5-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Germany, but bounced back with a steely resolve to claim a point against an impressive Swiss team. Scott McTominay's deflected strike had given the Scots an early lead before Xherdan Shaqiri grabbed what turned out to be the only other goal in the game with a delightful curled effort from distance following an error by Anthony Ralston.

Going into their final Group A clash with Hungary on Sunday, boss Steve Clarke and his players know that a victory could be enough to see them reach the last 16 of a major tournament for the first time in the national team's history. Scotland are highly unlikely to finish as runner's up in Group A, but three points and some help from games elsewhere could see them clinch one of the four-best placed sides that finish third in the group stage.
