Roads closed and large emergency service presence after double decker bus crashes into building - latest updates
There is a large emergency service presence in Bolton tonight after a double-decker bus crashed into a building. It happened on School Street in Westhoughton at around 6:40pm this evening (Friday).
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed they were called to the scene of the crash. Officers remain in the area alongside paramedics and fire crews.
The front end of a Stagecoach bus can be seen to have smashed into a building, understood to be a gym. It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.
Road closures are currently in place at the junction of Church Street and Market Street.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 18:40 today (10 June), firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus, a car and a building. Two fire engines from Atherton and Hindley stations, and the technical response unit from Leigh quickly attended.
"Crews worked with colleagues from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and Greater Manchester Police to assess the area and make the scene safe. One casualty was conveyed to hospital by NWAS. Firefighters are currently still in attendance.”
GMP said: "At around 1840 on 10/06/2022, police were called to a report of a road traffic collision on School Street, Westhoughton, Bolton.
"Officers attended alongside emergency services and are currently dealing with a bus that has collided into a nearby building.
"Road closures remain in place at Church Street at the junction with Market Street.
