Road shut in Tameside after reports of a crash

A road in Tameside is reportedly closed off this morning after a crash.

Mossley Road, between Ashton-under-Lyne and Mossley, is reportedly shut in both directions. Emergency services are believed to be on the scene near The Hartshead Inn.

It has not yet been confirmed how many vehicles are involved, or if anyone is seriously injured. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details.

Traffic is being diverted away from the area, with a bus service also on a diversion route. A tweet posted by First buses said: "SERVICE ALERT - 350 RTC Mosley Rd. Diversion via Manchester Rd, Stamford St, Darnton Rd, Mossley Rd in both directions."
