LIVE: Huge emergency response as road shut outside busy retail park in Oldham after crash

A huge emergency service response has been reported on a road in Oldham.

Park Road has reportedly been closed as a result of an incident this afternoon (Saturday). Pictures from the scene show multiple fire engines, police cars and ambulances at the scene, near to Alexandra Retail Park.

Eyewitnesses have also reported seeing an air ambulance in the area, which is a short distance from Oldham town centre. The exact nature of the incident is not yet known.

Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for information.

Police are stopping vehicles from entering Park Road from the roundabout at the junction with Ashton Road.

Park Road is closed in both directions, between the King Street roundabout and Kings Road, as a result of the incident, according to the traffic monitoring service Inrix.

An air ambulance is currently stationed on a car park at the back of the retail park.
