Rio Ferdinand makes Harry Kane prediction ahead of Manchester United vs Bayern Munich

Rio Ferdinand believes Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane will have "the bit between his teeth" when he faces Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Erik ten Hag had targeted a summer move for Kane to help fix his side's goalscoring problems. However, it soon became clear that Daniel Levy was reluctant to sell to a fellow Premier League club.

Kane would eventually sign for Bayern and has started well in Germany with four goals to his name already. United and the Bundesliga giants have been drawn in the same Champions League group and begin their campaigns against each other this week at the Allianz Arena.

Ahead of the clash in Germany, Ferdinand told TNT Sports he is expecting the striker to show what he can do against United. He explained: "I can’t wait. Look at the clubs. Two clubs with huge history.

"The backdrop of Harry Kane being there as well, the England captain, someone who a lot of Man United fans would have wanted to come and wear the United shirt. He’s a phenomenal player, his record speaks for itself.

"Champions League football, he’s been there, he’s produced before, he’s been to a final [in 2019] but never won it. He hasn’t got his hands on any silverware, so the bit will be between his teeth.

"I don’t think there will be anyone in the Man United dressing room taking him for granted or being complacent."

When asked for his prediction, Ferdinand admitted it would be tough for the Reds to gain a result.

"There are some great players in that Bayern Munich team, they have got great pedigree," he added. "Man United are back in the competition where they want to be.
