Rico Lewis pulls rank on Stefan Ortega and more Man City moments missed vs Burnley

As Manchester City's designated cup goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega has impressed in patches so far this season, but has also shown the difficulties of coming into a game having not played regularly in the build-up. He was tasked with providing the same build-up responsibilities as Ederson on Saturday, with Burnley seemingly taking advantage of his selection by pressing him at every opportunity.

Ortega found himself outside of his area on multiple occasions to start City's attack - although on one occasion his pass to Rico Lewis was far too casual and Burnley could break into the box. Lewis had to race back, doing well to force Ian Maatsen wide and stop the danger. When the ball was out of play, Lewis turned to stare at Ortega and looked to have some choice words for putting the side under unnecessary pressure.

Lewis may be the youngest player in the dressing room, but he's clearly not afraid of telling his more senior teammates off if they need telling.

As Vincent Kompany got a deserved ovation when he walked out of the Etihad tunnel pre-match, he shared hugs with Mike Summerbee, Pep Guardiola, and other familiar faces among the City coaching staff. The Etihad Stadium announcer gave Kompany a lengthy introduction, and the fans sang his name, while there also appeared to be an inside joke or two among Kompany and the City substitutes.

As Kompany turned to head back to his own dugout, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan shouted something in his direction and began to laugh, beckoning Kompany over to get a handshake of their own.
