Two Man City stars to be 'awarded new contracts' and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly planning to reward two first-team players with new contracts following the starring roles they’ve played in the club’s success this season.

As per the Daily Mail, youngster Rico Lewis and Nathan Ake are the next members of the City squad set to earn renewals. Lewis has emerged as a reliable understudy to Kyle Walker at right-back and has also filled in on the opposite flank, whilst Ake has done an exemplary job at left-back following the departure of Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich.

The move coincides with the recent contract negotiations with striker Julian Alvarez, who extended his stay at the Etihad until at least 2028.

The Daily Mail also report that Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister is a key player on City’s summer wish list.

The midfielder is enjoying a standout season, helping his side push for a European place. This has included nine goals and two assists across all competitions, along with World Cup victory with Argentina in December.

City will face strong competition to earn the playmaker’s signature, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal also reportedly interested in Mac Allister. A price tag of around £70million is likely to be close to what is required to sign the 24-year-old.

The movement of Jude Bellingham will no doubt determine any possible deal for Mac Allister. The Borussia Dortmund ace has been linked with just about every top club in Europe this year, including Liverpool, City and Real Madrid.
