Rico Lewis could be surprise Phil Foden replacement for Man City vs Manchester United
Phil Foden sat out Manchester City's win at Young Boys on Wednesday with a 'little problem', putting his participation in the Manchester derby at risk.
Foden's omission could be precautionary, with Guardiola set to offer a more detailed assessment of the squad's fitness on Friday. Julian Alvarez was also dropped from the starting line-up in Switzerland as he 'couldn't play 90 minutes', but came off the bench and saw a well-taken goal disallowed.
Both would be expected to line up at Manchester United on Sunday if fit, however even the derby isn't worth risking Foden's long-term fitness. If he isn't 100 per cent, City have options to cover his inverted winger role.

Bernardo Silva will surely return to the midfield at the expense of either Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes, with Alvarez also coming into the side if he is able to play 90 minutes.
If the Brighton and Arsenal line-ups are anything to go by, Foden would line up on one flank, coming inside as a second number ten alongside Alvarez.
Rodri's return from suspension will make for a more balanced midfield than the one that faced Arsenal, as will John Stones' ability to join Rodri in midfield. Jack Grealish sent a reminder of his quality at Young Boys, while Jeremy Doku continued his good form - but Guardiola said last week he will struggle to maintain a game every three days.
Maybe the derby will be another chance for Rico Lewis to help win the midfield battle, and add to his growing collection of big game starts, especially away from home.
