Marcus Rashford pinpoints what Manchester United must do well to beat Man City

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has urged the Reds' defence to perform well to avoid slipping to defeat against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Reds' defence has been under the microscope this season after David de Gea was replaced by Andre Onana and injuries plagued the back line. In midweek, United's defenders stole the show with Harry Maguire scoring the winner 20 minutes from time and Onana producing a stunning penalty save to secure the important three points in the Champions League.

While Rashford's duties focus mainly on the offensive side of the game, the England international is under no illusions about the importance of those behind him in gaining a positive result at Old Trafford this weekend. In conversation with the rapper Aitch, the forward said on Sky Sports: "Heading into big games, you only try to think of positive stuff.

"For me, I am just hoping we have a lot of chances. We know we are going to have to defend well but if we can take our chances going forward we should be in for a good game, if we defend well.

"Obviously we have got the crowd behind us at Old Trafford and we have got to try and use everything we can to go and get the win. I always think these days are special because these are just one-off games, it doesn't matter how good or how bad you have been doing in the season, if you beat City at Old Trafford everyone is happy that day and we will be looking to try and do that."
