'Rich vein of form' - Wigan Athletic man outlines Bolton game plan and makes Wanderers assessment

Wigan Athletic defender Jason Kerr believes his side will not underestimate Bolton Wanderers when the two sides lock horns once again this weekend.

Wanderers make the short journey to the DW Stadium to take on the Latics this Saturday in League One.

The 12.30pm kick-off sees automatic promotion chasing Wigan take on a Bolton side sitting midtable and with slim play-off hopes.

Wanderers are 11 points from the top six as things stand with seven games of their season remaining, while Leam Richardson's side are battling it out with Rotherham United for the League One title.

The Latics can do the double over Ian Evatt's side with victory this Saturday, as when these two sides last met at the University of Bolton Stadium in October, the Latics picked up all three points in a 4-0 victory.

Strikes from Will Keane, Callum Lang and a James McClean brace gave the visitors victory on that day.

These sides last played one another at the DW Stadium in August in the Carabao Cup, as the Latics sealed passage to the next round after a goalless draw following a penalty shootout victory.

Kerr has now spoken on the clash this weekend and insists Wigan will not be underestimating their opponents, who have been in good form of late which has helped bring them into the conversation for the top six.

But the defender believes that if the Latics implement their game plan and pay Wanderers due respect, they will emerge victorious like they did at the UniBol in October.
