James Trafford addresses Manchester City future as Bolton Wanderers loan spells nears end

James Trafford says he will leave his future and where he will playing his football next season with Manchester City as his Bolton Wanderers loan spell nears its conclusion.

The 19-year-old has spent the second half of the season on loan from City at Wanderers and has become the club's first choice goalkeeper since arriving in the January transfer window.

He has played all 19 games he has been available for and has impressed during his time at the University of Bolton Stadium, with Wanderers open to the prospect of having Trafford back next season.

Trafford, who is under contract at City until the summer of 2023, has three matches left of the season with Wanderers as Ian Evatt's side aim to finish in the top 10 in League One upon their first season back in the third tier of English football after promotion last season.

But speaking on his future, Trafford admits he has not had any meaningful talks yet about that and that he will leave it to City, his agent, and goalkeeping coach at the Etihad Stadium Xavi Mancisidor at the conclusion of the campaign.

He has previously spoken of his desire that if does go back to City, he does not want to go back to play in the under-23s and would only be interested in being second choice or challenging Ederson for the number one spot at Pep Guardiola's side.

But Trafford is grateful for his time at Wanderers and admits he has 'loved every moment' of his time at the club as he looks forward to a positive end to his loan spell.
