Reliable journalist now drops intriguing Spurs transfer claim involving Gareth Bale and Levy

Transfer insider Dean Jones doesn’t think that Gareth Bale signing for Tottenham for a third time would be the worst idea.

The flying Welshman spent last season on loan in North London before returning to Real Madrid despite ending his spell in impressive goalscoring form.

However, reports from Spain have emerged recently that the 32-year-old could be on course to make a sensational second return to Spurs.

The attacker gets linked with a move to Tottenham almost every summer and even though that ended up happening in 2020, those rumours haven’t gone away.

According to El Nacional, Bale has already agreed a deal to return to the Premier League next summer following the expiration of his contract at Real Madrid.

Tottenham were interested in signing Bale at the end of last season after he scored 16 goals across all competitions while on loan from Madrid, 11 of which came in the Premier League.

However, he ended up staying at the Bernabeu, although he’s made just three appearances for the Spanish giants and hasn’t played a single minute of club football since August.

The majority of his absence has been down to injury and Covid-19, but even when Bale has been fit, he’s been overlooked by Carlo Ancelotti.

Therefore, with Bale a free agent at the end of the season, Jones thinks that a move back to Spurs could be a good idea, especially with the World Cup just 10 months away.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The main sense I can make of Spurs signing Bale again is that there was a tinge of sadness and regret from Levy last time around. The fans were locked out so barely anyone got to see him back in a Spurs shirt.
