Red Arrows flying over Bolton again - full route map and flight path for Saturday

People in Bolton will be able to catch another glimpse of the Red Arrows on Saturday. It comes after the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team were spotted in the skies over Greater Manchester on Friday afternoon.

The elite squad was making its way from their base at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to Blackpool Airport. And the route they are taking tomorrow to another major event means the flight plan will again go over part of the region.

The distinctive red Hawk trainer jets are due to fly to the north of Bolton at just before lunchtime. The route will take them to the Southport Airshow - although it is still subject to change, depending on weather conditions.

After taking off at 11.49am the Red Arrows will fly towards north of Thornton before flying over the north of Bolton at 11.56am. They will then fly directly over Horwich, Blackrod and then Haigh Hall. They will continue on over Standish, Orell, Up Holland and then over Skelmersdale and Ormskirk before their Southport display at 12.01pm. They will then be over the sea, landing at Blackpool Airport at around 12.15pm.

Following a break, they are then due to depart Blackpool at 2.36pm en route to Prestwick Airport and flypasts in Whitehaven and Dumfries. There will also be a flypast in Stirling and display in Ayr before their day comes to a close, landing at Prestwick Airport at 5.55pm.

The full route map is below.
