Man City fans cast verdict on transfer window and predict Premier League finish

Manchester City fans are overwhelmingly confident that their team will win the Premier League for the fourth season in a row to make yet more history.

After last season’s Treble success, belief in the team is sky-high with a turnover of players this summer not denting expectations. Never before has a team won four consecutive English top-flight titles.

However, a whopping 91 per cent of the 1,500 City fans who voted in a Manchester Evening News poll predict that the Blues will do just that. Only 6.3 per cent of readers think City are destined for second with the few remaining voters forecasting a third-place finish or lower.

Pep Guardiola brought in four players this summer with Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes arriving amid the exits of Cole Palmer, Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte.

Just under 51 per cent of City-supporting readers said they are ‘delighted’ with their club's transfer deadline with a further 39.6 per cent also ‘satisfied’ with how the window panned out.

In fact, 49.3 per cent are so pleased with their side’s work that they do not want to see any more additions in January. That said, most believe at least one new face should be beckoned in.

A total of 39.2 per cent of readers believe one player should be acquired while 11.4 per cent of readers think around two or three players are needed to keep the title charge chugging along. Ten of the 1,500 voters believe six or more players needed to be signed.
