England vs Argentina in Rugby World Cup 2023 - teams, kick-off time and how to watch on TV

England are to begin their Rugby World Cup 2023 campaign against Argentina on Saturday night.

The tournament, which is being held in France, kicked off on Friday night where the hosts faced New Zealand at the Stade de France.

England head into the tournament out of form having won just two of their nine fixtures in 2023 - losing five out of their last six tests. And their last meeting with Argentina didn't go to plan with The Pumas winning 30-29 at Twickenham last November.

England arrived at their base in Le Touquet last Thursday where they have been preparing for their forthcoming games over the next month. As well as Argentina they have also been drawn alongside Japan, Samoa and Chile in Pool D.

Ahead of the game England coach Steve Borthwick said: " “With an excellent week of preparation in Le Touquet, the players are now looking forward to starting their World Cup campaign under the lights in Marseille on Saturday.

“After a number of impressive performances in the last 12 months by Argentina, we know that the first game in our pool will provide a stern test.

“This great tournament provides an excitingly special opportunity for our players, who I know, as ever, will be giving their all in front of our travelling support in the south of France.”

Here is everything you need to know about England's opening Rugby World Cup game.

The game is taking place at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille with kick-off at 9pm local time - 8pm UK time.

The game will be broadcast live on ITV1 with build-up starting at 7.15pm.
