How Manchester United's main Premier League rivals fared during pre-season matches

Manchester United have now rounded-up their summer programme and the Premier League curtain raiser against Wolves is around the corner next Monday night (8pm) at Old Trafford.

After finishing third in his first season at the helm, as well as guiding United to both domestic showpieces, manager Erik ten Hag and the recruitment team have added Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund to the ranks as proposed outgoings take centre stage when it comes to the transfer market.

In turn, that could pave the way for further additions. However, while business will continue in the backdrop, there will also be a greater focus on on-field matters from this point.

United are not alone in that respect, after sharpening-up their shooting boots against French side Lens and Athletic Bilbao this weekend. But how did their main Premier League rivals fare in pre-season?
