'Real deal' - Rio Ferdinand shares exciting Alejandro Garnacho verdict after latest Manchester United goal

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has labelled Alejandro Garnacho 'the real deal' after his goal against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Garnacho opened the scoring for the Reds after just 11 minutes in Turkey, firing home into the roof of the net to silence a hostile home crowd in Istanbul. The strike continues what has been a brilliant week for the 19-year-old.

On Sunday, the winger scored one of the Premier League's best-ever goals when his acrobatic bicycle kick stunned Goodison Park. In the aftermath of yet another moment of magic from Garnacho, Ferdinand could not hold back with his praise.

"Garnacho is the real deal, there is no doubt in my mind," the 45-year-old exclaimed on TNT Sports' co-commentary. "He is the real deal!

"This kid, ice in his veins. A spectacular goal at the weekend and the importance of this goal to silence this crowd in an intimidating environment to silence this crowd."

United entered dreamland just seven minutes after Garnacho's opener thanks to captain Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder unleashed an incredible long-range strike to double the advantage.

However, Hakim Ziyech's free-kick just before the half-hour mark pegged the Reds back to 2-1.

Erik ten Hag's side know they cannot lose tonight if they wish to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages. A defeat will mean it is impossible for the Reds to progress.

Should United draw and FC Copenhagen beat Bayern Munich, they will also be eliminated from the Champions League. However, a victory will likely put the Reds in the driving seat to qualify second from Group A.
