Reading FC boss Paul Ince given fresh transfer boost in attempt to sign rising Arsenal star

Paul Ince has been given a fresh boost in his attempts to sign young Arsenal star Omari Hutchinson this summer.

It comes as the 18-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Royals to boost his prospects of game time during the 2022/23 season, was left out of the Gunners' tour squad to the USA.

Mikel Arteta's side are on a ten-day tour of the States and the Spaniard has taken 33 players on the trip. However, Hutchinson is not with the travelling party, suggesting he is a way down the manager's thoughts for the new campaign.

That could in turn open up a move away for attacking midfielder Hutchinson, who is yet to play for Arsenal's first team. The teenager has come through the youth ranks in north London and has eight goals and seven assists to his name for the club's U23s side.

Former Reading loanee Karl Hein has also been left out of the travelling squad by Arsenal, as has Miguel Azeez, who has been tentatively linked with Royals. The Gunners' signing of Brazilian youngster Marquinhos from Sao Paulo earlier this summer has also seemingly pushed Hutchinson down the midfield pecking order at the Emirates, thus boosting Reading's prospects of potentially landing him for the new campaign.

Royals boss Paul Ince is working under a transfer embargo this summer, which limits the club's activity to just free transfers and loan signings. He has managed to bring in six players, though. They are Joe Lumley (loan), Tom Ince (free), Dean Bouzanis (free), Tyrese Fornah (loan), Jeff Hendrick (loan) and Shane Long (free).

Ince is able to have seven players on loan in his squad, although only five can be named in a matchday squad at any one time.
