Emile Smith Rowe hails "ridiculous" Arsenal star as club's best summer signing

Emile Smith Rowe has hailed Gabriel Jesus as being "ridiculous" as he branded the Brazilian Arsenal's best signing of the summer, with the season season-opening game against Crystal Palace a matter of days away.

Jesus completed a £45million move from Manchester City to the Gunners last month. He had been Mikel Arteta's top target entering the window, as the Spaniard looked to replace the departed Alexandre Lacazette.

He will start the season as the Gunners' first-choice striker after scoring seven goals in their unbeaten pre-season schedule. It is not only the fans who have been left impressed by Arsenal's new number nine though.

Attacking midfielder Smith Rowe has now revealed how highly rated the 25-year-old is among his new team-mates. The young Englishman made it clear that the Gunners squad are delighted with their club's move for the Brazilian international.

"The players that have come back [from loans], I already know how good they are so it’s not a surprise to see how good they are and how well they are doing. But from the new players, I think Gabriel Jesus. I didn’t actually realise how sharp he was," he told FIVE.

"Obviously playing against him it's different, you see him watching Man City before. But when you actually see him in training. I’ve been telling my friends, they're always asking, and I'm like 'he’s ridiculous'. Everyone in the team is really excited for the new season and the fans should be as well I think."
