Reaction from Faversham Town manager Tommy Warrilow following 3-1 Isthmian South East derby win at Sittingbourne
Manager Tommy Warrilow felt Faversham were worthy winners in the Swale derby at Sittingbourne.
Town won 3-1 at Woodstock on Saturday to continue their unbeaten start to the Isthmian South East season.
The Southern Counties East champions are up to third after two more goals for Tashi-Jay Kwayie and one from Eniye Amgbaduba ended Bourne’s 26-game unbeaten home league record.
Kwayie’s early opener was cancelled out by a Henry Sinai free-kick but Faversham pulled clear in the second half and defended well to limit the hosts’ chances.
Warrilow took the result in his stride but knew it was a job well done against a Brickies side who hadn’t lost in the league at Woodstock since March 2024.
“We said no matter what happens here, if we win, we’re not going to be jumping up and down or whatever,” said Warrilow, whose side host East Grinstead on Tuesday.

“It’s a tool and I’ve got no problems with it because we’ve got a long throw as well.
“I thought all the boys defended well and we knew we’d hit them on counter-attacks, which we did.
“We cashed in on a couple but there were three others we should have done better with.
“On paper, everyone will look and say ‘that’s a great result’.
