Rasmus Hojlund sends rallying cry to Manchester United teammates ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Rasmus Hojlund insists Manchester United will 'rise again' in a rallying cry to his teammates after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

United endured another dismal performance against the Seagulls, with Danny Welbeck Pascal Groß and Joao Pedro on the scoresheet for the visitors. Hannibal Mejbri netted his first senior goal for the Reds, although it was merely a consolation.

Hojlund was handed his home debut by Erik ten Hag six weeks after being paraded around Old Trafford ahead of the friendly against RC Lens. The 20-year-old managed 64 minutes before being replaced by Anthony Martial.

It was not an ideal home debut for the Danish international, who has been on the losing end twice in as many appearances. But he sent a rallying call to his teammates and thanked fans for their support on Sunday evening.

Alongside a number of pictures from Old Trafford, Hojlund wrote: "We will rise again. Thanks for the warm welcome Old Trafford".

United and Ten Hag have been managing Hojlund's minutes carefully after a stress fracture in his back was flagged during medical tests. The young striker only made his debut against Arsenal before the international break, before also coming off the bench twice for the Danish national side.

United only have three full days to rest and recover before they face Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League group stage game. Ten Hag already a number of fitness issues to contend with, namely the absences Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount in central midfield.
