Rasmus Hojlund’s stance on Erik ten Hag confirmed as Man United star issues short verdict

Rasmus Hojlund has praised Manchester United's decision to stick with manager Erik ten Hag ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old striker, who joined United last summer for a hefty £72m from Atalanta, initially struggled with the demands of the Premier League, not scoring in the top flight until Boxing Day. However, Ten Hag's unwavering support saw the young Dane finish the season with an impressive 16 goals across all competitions.

Despite Ten Hag facing criticism for United's eighth-place finish - their worst since 1989 - the club ended the season by winning the FA Cup. United have since decided that the Dutch coach will remain at Old Trafford next season and Hojlund is full of support for his manager.

Asked for his feelings on Ten Hag remaining in charge at Old Trafford, the striker was full of praise for his manager, and said he was "very happy." Hojlund added: "He's a very good coach and I've loved working with him this year."

Hojlund's words reflect a strong backing for Ten Hag, suggesting that the striker is confident that he and the team can continue to improve under the Dutch coach. Ten Hag was an often maligned figure last season but his management did allow Hojlund and several other young stars to notably develop, which could bode well for next term.

After showing progress in his debut campaign, Hojlund – who is set to benefit by the return of Ruud van Nistelrooy to the club this summer – will be eager to boost
