Manchester United confirm Premier League squad as takeover bidder dealt financial blow

Manchester United have submitted their official 25-man squad for the Premier League season.

After the closure of the summer transfer window, Premier League sides were required to submit an updated 25-man squad list this week and Erik ten Hag has now confirmed which players will be available for selection.

Five of the club's newest arrivals, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat, have been named in the squad, but Rasmus Hojlund has not been included because of his age.

Premier League rules state Under-21 players don't need to be registered in the squad, which is why Hojlund is not on the list.

Manchester United takeover bidder and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been dealt a double financial blow amid his ongoing attempts to assume control at Old Trafford.

Proposals headed-up by Sheikh Jassim, from Qatar, and Sir Jim - via his INEOS company - have yet to be accepted by the Glazer family and United remain at a crossroads off the field. That means the Premier League giants are still being guided from the top by their much-maligned American owners.
