Sir Jim Ratcliffe shows Manchester United takeover stance as Rasmus Hojlund achieves ‘dream’

Here are your Manchester United evening headlines for Monday, September 11.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes fresh Manchester United takeover admission

INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has admitted failure in the Manchester United takeover process is not an option for him as he awaits news on the sale.

Ratcliffe is one of the two frontrunners to buy the Reds after the Glazers announced in November a 'strategic review'. At the time, this review was defined as leaving all potential scenarios on the table in regards the future of the club's ownership, including the prospect of a full sale.

Since the news, Ratcliffe
is thought to have approached the American family with an offer for approximately 60 per cent of United. However, he faces stiff competition from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani who is proposing a 100 per cent buyout.

Rasmus Hojlund names 'lifelong dream' he fulfilled

Rasmus Hojlund was leading the celebrations in Helsinki on Sunday evening after Denmark beat Finland 1-0 in their final Euro 2024 qualifier of the international break.

The Manchester United
striker saw his minutes increased again in the Finnish capital, coming on at half-time and enjoying a full 45 minutes leading the line. His side dominated but looked frustrated as the game edged towards a goalless draw, until Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg arrowed in a late winner from distance.

There were scenes of jubilation after the full-time whistle as the Danish squad went over to their away end. And Hojlund was right in the middle of it, leading the crowd with chants of 'We are the Danes, we are the Danes!' through the megaphone.
