Rasmus Hojlund explains how Ruud van Nistelrooy is helping him and praises two Man United teammates

Striker Rasmus Hojlund said he believes he can "develop a lot" learning from Ruud van Nistelrooy after scoring the winner in Manchester United's 2-1 triumph over Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Following Alejandro Garnacho's leveller after half-time, United turned the game on its head just past the hour mark when Hojlund dinked a delicate chip over Mark Flekken.

It marked the Dane's first Premier League goal of the season and his second in all competitions since recovering from a hamstring injury that forced him to miss the start of the season.

The 21-year-old's effort, which was enough to arrest United's five-game winless run, drew comparisons with a finish typical of former United striker and current coach Van Nistelrooy.

Hojlund, addressing such comparisons, told MUTV: "I don't want to be compared to him! We are learning from him and working very closely with him is obviously a big step forward for me.

"I feel I can develop a lot. He is doing a great job helping the team."

As well as getting himself on the scoresheet with his first Old Trafford goal of the season, the former Atalanta man did an excellent job leading United's attack, supported by Marcus Rashford and Garnacho from the wide areas.

"I think I had a great game," added Hojlund, reviewing his own performance. "I think all three of us at the front played very well. It was very good to play with Marcus, Alejandro and Bruno [Fernandes] from the beginning at Old Trafford - I had really missed it.
