Ruud van Nistelrooy explains how Ruben Amorim appointment has changed the mood at Man United
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has admitted there is a 'sense of excitement' at Manchester United following the recent appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club's new head coach.
Following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag just over a week ago, United moved quickly to appoint Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim as his permanent successor.
The 39-year-old will officially start work at Old Trafford on Monday (November 11) and will take charge of United for the first time when they travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town on November 24.

Van Nistelrooy will remain in charge until Amorim takes over. The Dutchman is halfway through his caretaker spell in charge, overseeing two games so far with another two still to go.
Admitting he feels honoured to find himself in the position he is currently in, Van Nistelrooy, who is yet to speak with Amorim, believes the 39-year-old's impending arrival has generated a feeling of 'excitement around the club'.
Van Nistelrooy, penning his programme notes ahead of Thursday night's Europa League clash with PAOK at Old Trafford, said: "There is a sense of excitement around the club as we prepare to welcome Ruben Amorim as head coach next week. Until then, it will be my continued privilege to manage the team for tonight's game and Sunday's visit of Leicester City in the Premier League.
"In my two games so far as interim head coach, I have felt a lot of love from the stands, and I know how much energy this gives to me and to the players, so we need to keep this connection going.
